IPC-A-600 is a new international standard for the safety management of electronic products. It results from years of collaboration between industry representatives and safety authorities worldwide.

IPC-A-600 will help to ensure that electronic products are safe to use and compliant with safety standards. It will also help to enhance the quality of safety data reporting.

RECERTIFICATION IPC-A-600 CERTIFIED IPC TRAINER (CIT)

Certified IPC Trainer program is an essential resource for those who want to become certified trainers and teach others about the importance of quality assurance assemblies.

For anyone who wants to renew their IPC-A-600 Instructor Certification, the IPC-A-600 Instructor Certification (CIT) training is the perfect way to stay up to date. This 1.5 day course will increase and enhance an individual’s skill and ability to distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable printed boards. Not only does this training aim to increase understanding and proficiency, but it also helps students learn why a printed board should be accepted or rejected.

The importance of this training is evident as maintaining the 24-month certification requires re-certification prior to its expiration. Thus, IPC-A-600 Instructor Certification (CIT) training provides an invaluable opportunity for individuals to further develop their skills and knowledge related to printed boards.

By enrolling in this training, individuals will have the chance to gain a better understanding of printed board acceptance criteria and inspection techniques that are used by the industry’s most qualified inspectors. Additionally, those who attend will be able to use the latest IPC-A-600 standard guidance materials, which are based on current technology trends and best practices.

After completing the course, students will take open book written examinations and demonstrate acceptable rework and repairs based on IPC-A-600 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Certification. Upon a successful completion of the course, students are rewarded with an IPC-A-600 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Certification which is valid for two years.

After the two-year training period, students can enroll in a relevant recertification program to maintain their CIT certification.

The training program aims to equip students with knowledge and skills to excel in the field of electronics manufacturing. The course duration is approximately 10 days and is divided into multiple modules such as surface mount technology, soldering/desoldering, leaded component rework, inspection criteria, and documentation processes.

All modules are interactive and hands-on which gives the students an opportunity to practice and apply their knowledge.

The certified trainer certification is widely recognized in the industry as it demonstrates one’s technical expertise, and it also serves as an assurance of quality standards.

What is IPC-A-600?

IPC-A-600, or "Acceptability of Printed Boards," is a standard published by the Association of Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) that provides guidelines for the acceptability of printed circuit boards (PCBs).

It covers various topics, including PCB design, materials, fabrication, assembly, and inspection. The standard is widely used in the electronics industry as a reference for quality control and inspection of PCBs.

It is intended to help manufacturers, assemblers, and inspectors ensure that PCBs meet the required specifications and are high quality. The IPC-A-600 standard is regularly updated to reflect changes in technology and industry practices.

IPC-A-600 is an international standard developed by the Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC). It is the most widely used standard for the inspection and acceptance of printed circuit boards and assemblies.

Benefits of IPC-A-600:

The IPC-A-600 standard provides a number of benefits for PCB manufacturers and users:

It provides a common standard that is recognized internationally, ensuring consistent quality of PCBs.

It helps to reduce the time and cost of PCB assembly by ensuring that only accepted boards are used.

It provides clear guidelines for the inspection and acceptance of PCBs, ensuring that only boards that meet certain quality standards are used.

It helps to reduce the risk of failure or malfunction by ensuring that the boards meet certain criteria.

It helps to reduce warranty costs by ensuring that only boards that meet the standard are used.

Certification & Recertification :

After completing the Course, students will take open book written examinations and be required to perform acceptable rework and repairs based on IPC-A-600. This is to ensure that the student has a thorough understanding of the material presented in the Course and can apply it in practice. A student who successfully completes this Course is rewarded with an IPC-A-600 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) that stays Valid for Two(2) Years. This certification serves as proof of the student's knowledge and practical understanding of IPC-A-600, allowing them to work as a professional in the field.

Students who have previously earned their IPC-A-600 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) certification within the last two years still may take part in relevant recertification training. This training allows those who have already earned their certification to refresh their understanding of the material, as well as learn more about any changes or updates made to IPC-A-600. By completing these refresher courses, they can demonstrate their commitment to keeping up with industry standards.

Overall, taking part in training courses related to IPC-A-600 is beneficial for both new and experienced professionals alike. As technology advances, it is important to stay informed with all of the latest developments in order.
